I had a hard drive failure at work about a year ago. As I was cleaning out my desk, I realized that I still had it. No one knew how to get rid of it and there was some thought that  it might not be the source of all my problems and might still be usable. I never had another problem after it was taken care of so it sat in my desk drawer until it was time to change desks. At that point they let me take it home and deconstruct it. Hard to believe that each of those shiny, solid metal disks hold 80 GB of data. I love taking apart technology.
