logo: Barron County Developmental Disabilities
Logo for Barron County Developmental Disabilities Services, Inc. (later renamed Barron County Developmental Services, Inc with an accompanying logo revision) a nonprofit rehabilitation center for developmentally disabled adults. They had never had a logo before.
The first step was to get colors approved. I presented the following, which was approved:
Pantone 2727 (Blue) - In business, blue symbolizes: Trust, Dependability, and Strength.
Pantone 7408 (Yellow) - In business, yellow symbolizes: Optimism, Clarity, and Warmth.
Pantone 424 (Gray) - In business, gray symbolizes: Balance and Calm.
Trust, dependability, optimism, warmth and balanced calm are all qualities that a rehabilitation center for developmentally disabled adults needs to have.
Excitement brought on by opportunity as symbolized by the excited person, followed by the name and tag line. Shown in both large and small sizes and in color and black.
The opportunity of a new day as symbolized by rising sun. Under the sun, the initials of the company allow for greater readability at small sizes/at a distance. Beneath that is the full company name. Small size versions presented: tag line under and name/tag at right allow for readability when the full name would be too small. Presented in color and black.
Caring and helping as symbolized by stacked hands and heart, followed by initials to allow for greater readability at a small size. Name and tag under both. Presented in color and black.
Caring and helping as symbolized by stacked hands and heart, followed by name and tag. Tilted hands are reaching toward the name in a friendly gesture tilted or straight hands could be swapped between versions A and B. Presented in color and black.
Final logo (including name change and color change from gray to black) as chosen by the clients of the center.
